Co-Owners Maurice & Laura Hull
Maurice and Laura Hull, married since 2008, have built a diverse portfolio of business ventures, including commercial real estate, tree farming, wildlife management, and a championship-winning sports car team. Maurice, a Greensboro native, practiced real estate law for 25 years before founding MarketPlace Management in 1993. Laura, with a background in radio and television advertising, joined the racing world as public relations and media director at Virginia International Raceway, where she met Maurice.
As co-owners of Silver Hare Racing, Maurice and Laura have led the team since 2018, offering high-performance TA2 cars for veteran and up-and-coming racers. Their team operates from a former NASCAR Cup Series shop with the mission of becoming the sport’s top provider of racing services.
Beyond racing, the Hulls own Waukegan Farms in Caswell County, NC, where they manage over 2,000 acres for wildlife habitat and grow loblolly pine, grain crops, and natural grasses. Their farm, recognized as North Carolina Tree Farm of the Year in 2011, is part of the American Tree Farm System and certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative. They also breed and show championship American Quarter Horses, with Laura winning multiple national titles, including World Championships in 2009 and 2021.
Gil Martin - Director of Competition
Veteran NASCAR crew chief Gil Martin joined Silver Hare Racing as Director of Competition in 2022, where he oversees all aspects of the team’s racing operations. With over 650 NASCAR races under his belt since 1992, Martin made history as the first crew chief to score wins in all three of NASCAR’s top national touring series—Cup, Xfinity, and Camping World Truck. Of his 16 NASCAR Cup Series victories as a crew chief, 13 were achieved with Kevin Harvick. Martin also guided Harvick to a win in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Throughout his illustrious career, Martin has helped numerous drivers, including Clint Bowyer, Robby Gordon, Jeff Burton, Kenny Wallace, and Jeff Purvis, secure victories.
