HIGH POINT, N.C. (July 21, 2026) – Silver Hare Racing endured one of its most challenging weekends of the 2026 season at Watkins Glen International, as a series of incidents and mechanical misfortune tested the team across both rounds of the Cube 3 Architecture TA2 Series doubleheader.
Race 1 on Saturday showed just how quickly a strong run can unravel. Noah Harmon had battled his way into fourth position and was knocking on the door of a podium when a broken rear axle with just a few laps remaining ended his afternoon, dropping him to 24th at the finish. Tanner Reif, after starting 21st and working his way forward, made contact with Jared Odrick that sent both drivers spinning. The resulting damage to the No. 75 Power Gen Components Chevrolet forced Reif to retire from the race, finishing 28th.
The Silver Hare Racing crew worked late into the night to have both cars ready for Sunday morning’s Race 2.
Their efforts were rewarded in part, as Reif delivered a hard-fought eighth-place finish after starting 19th in a car that had been rebuilt just hours before. It was a testament to the determination of everyone on the Silver Hare Racing pit wall.
Harmon’s Race 2 was not as fortunate. He was spun from behind by the No. 95 car early in the race, managed to gather the car back up and continue, but was then collected by the No. 20 car of Jay Thomas, resulting in major damage to the No. 7 Cube 3/High Point Rockers Chevrolet. Harmon retired from the race with a few laps remaining, finishing 21st.
“This weekend stings,” Harmon said. “We had a car capable of running on the podium in Race 1 and things just didn’t go our way. Race 2 was frustrating because there was nothing I could do about either incident. I’m proud of how the guys kept fighting all weekend and we’ll come back stronger.”
“It was a tough weekend but the guys on this team never quit,” Reif said. “They worked all night to give me a race car on Sunday and to come away with an eighth after everything we went through means a lot. That’s the Silver Hare Racing way and it keeps me motivated going into the next one.”
The Cube 3 Architecture TA2 Series now takes its longest break of the season, with Silver Hare Racing and the rest of the field going seven weeks before heading north of the border to Canadian Tire Motorsports Park for Labor Day weekend, September 3 through 5. It will mark the first time this season the TA2 Series competes alongside the TA Series. Both races will be available live on Racing America and the Trans Am Series YouTube channel.
