(High Point, NC) Silver Hare Racing team owner and driver, Maurice Hull, rallied to a second-place finish in TA2 Masters, driving the no.57 Stephanie Quayle/Waukegan Farms Chevy Camaro.  The one-hundred-mile race took place on the streets of Nashville and marked the inaugural Trans Am Big Machine Spiked Coolers Presents the Franklin Road Classic.  With Hull’s runner up finish in TA2 Masters, the points gap was closed to just fifteen.

“The atmosphere around this event was incredible with all of the fans”, said Hull.  “The track was extremely tight and challenging, but really fun to drive.  I’m really proud of the speed that Michael (Self), Daniel (Suárez) and Tyler (Kicera) showed throughout the weekend.  I got spun on the first lap and it was an uphill battle from there, but really happy to still be able to come away with a second-place finish in Masters.  I’m looking forward to Watkins Glen in a few weeks and putting together a strong finish to the rest of our season.”

NASCAR Cup series regular, Daniel Suárez, drove the number 75, Wesley Financial Chevy Camaro, for Silver Hare Racing in Nashville.  Suárez qualified seventh and ran as high as fifth place, one spot ahead of teammate Tyler Kicera (no.5 Silver Hare Racing Ford Mustang).  Both drivers were moving forward when they suffered different brake related issues, forcing both to retire early in the race.  Michael Self (no.7 Sinclair Oil Chevy Camaro) started the weekend strong, ending up P2 in the first practice.  Making his way into the top ten early in the race, Self was forced to retire with a transmission issue on lap thirteen.

Silver Hare Racing and the TA2 machines get a break, with the next event taking place at Watkins Glen in upstate New York, September 9-12.  Since the late August Canadian Tire Motorsports Park event was canceled, the Watkins Glen event has been turned into a double race weekend.  The TA2 cars will race along side the TA and GT classes in mixed class races on both Saturday and Sunday.  Catch all of the action across Silver Hare Racing social media and on the Trans AM app.
