(High Point, NC) Silver Hare Racing is coming off of two solid finishes last weekend at the Charlotte ROVAL Pro-Am event with NASCAR Xfinity stars Harrison Burton and Brandon Jones. The Silver Hare Racing haulers arrived back at the team’s High Point, NC shop late Sunday night. The crew got to work early Monday morning turning those cars around to be driven by Michael Self (no. 7 Sinclair Oils, Chevrolet Camaro) and Maurice Hull (no. 57 Waukegan Farms, Sabelt, Chevrolet Camaro) this weekend at Road Atlanta

Speaking to the challenge of getting three cars turned around on short order, Silver Hare Racing crew chief Jeff Holley said, “Everyone at the shop has been working non-stop the last few weeks trying to get things into shape, and they’ve done a really nice job. We thrashed getting a new car together for Charlotte, and Brandon had a nice showing there in that car and both cars came home in solid shape, so it made things easier on us this week getting prepared for Road Atlanta. We had a good test at Road Atlanta a few weeks ago with Michael, Tyler and Maurice and tried a lot of different setup changes and packages and feel like we made good progress from where we were at Sebring, so we’re excited to get back and race.”

While the Ford Mustang driven by Tyler Kicera (no. 5 Waukegan Farms, Sabelt, Ford Mustang) did not compete at the Pro-Am event, the team has also been working hard to address mechanical issues he encountered at Sebring. On lap sixteen, while running in the top five, Kicera suffered a fuel pump and subsequent electrical failure that forced his early retirement.

“Sebring was an uphill battle all the way and the team has made a ton of progress with my car since then,” said Kicera. “I’m looking at Road Atlanta as a reset for me. We tested there a few weeks ago, unloaded with excellent balance and were really fast out of the gate. We worked on a few things and I have a lot of confidence going into this weekend.”

Road Atlanta served as the Trans Am season finale in 2020, where Silver Hare Racing earned a TA2 Master’s Championship and finished runner up in the TA2 National Championship.  Moved back to its early season date in 2021, the team hopes to build valuable momentum at Road Atlanta that can propel them into the rest of the season.
