both Maurice and Rafa earn wins in
The Trans Am series presented by Pirelli TA2 championship
On his first trip
to the Austin road course in a few years, Maurice Hull faced a steep learning curve with COTA being one of the most challenging tracks on the schedule. The speed of the Waukegan Farms – Silver Hare Camaros was evident early however, when in Friday practice Rafa Matos began laying down laps a full two seconds faster than the competition.
Saturday Qualifying
Brought beautiful weather for go fast time in the Texas sunshine. Continuing a top-3 qualifying streak in 2020 for the first year two-car team, Rafa put the #7 Camaro p3,
while Maurice lined up the #57 p2 in Masters.
When the Green Flew
Rafa jumped alongside the leader and battled his way into the lead exiting turn one. Just a few laps later the safety car would be called out for a full course caution, and not for the first time. Following the second restart, Rafa immediately opened up a two second gap over second place, setting the fastest lap of the race. While Rafa was cruising away at the front, Maurice made his move into the lead in Masters and never looked back
