CONNOR ZILISCH, DRIVER NO. 57 SILVER HARE RACING/KHI MANAGEMENT CHEVROLET CAMARO

“It was a big learning day for me. We’re getting better. We ran the whole race and I’m really happy about that. The car drove great. We had a really fast car again. I was the fastest of the ‘Young Guns’ and one of the fastest cars on the track. I definitely think we could’ve been top-two, easily, if we could’ve just run the whole race cleanly, but that’s on me. I was just impatient and I’ve got to learn from that and that’s what I’m looking forward to. Going into the West Coast swing, I’ll just have to go there, be patient, and I know I’ll have a fast car that will be able to challenge for wins. Just super disappointed in what could’ve been a really good run today and just super disappointed in myself for making some mistakes. I think we’ve got a really good piece going to the West Coast and I’m really looking forward to it.”

MAURICE HULL, DRIVER NO. 75 WAUKEGAN FARMS/ROCKY MOUNTAIN ELK FOUNDATION CAMARO

“I’m really proud of all the guys at Silver Hare Racing, and I’m really proud of Connor for finishing strong on a day when there was a lot going on out there. It was really a good weekend. I ran a very conservative race. We were fast. We had speed early on. I got spun once and avoided about six or eight cars that easily could’ve taken me out. So, from my vantage point today, it was all about survival. The car had speed, but there was so much traffic, and we were bunched up because of cautions. It was very difficult to get a rhythm going. There was a lot of side-by-side racing, and this track isn’t particularly fond of that all the way around the circuit, but it was a very good day. Trans Am put on a great show, and they did a very good job with the fans and the fan walk.”
