HIGH POINT, NC (June 25, 2025) – With the 2025 Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli rolling into Road America this weekend, Silver Hare Racing arrives confident and focused after a momentum-building weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
Leading the charge is veteran Rafa Matos, driver of the No. 57 Concord American Flagpole Chevrolet, who stormed to a hard-fought second-place finish at Mid-Ohio. The two-time TA2 champion now sits third in the championship standings—just 52 points behind leader Tristan McKee—and returns to Road America as the defending winner.
“I’m really looking forward to getting back to Road America where I won last season,” said Matos. “It’s one of my favorite tracks in the U.S.—fast corners, heavy braking zones, and the atmosphere is always amazing. Hopefully we can take what we learned last weekend and climb one more step on the podium.”
Matos has been visiting Road America since the early days of his American racing career, earning wins across multiple categories at the 4.048-mile circuit. His experience, paired with crew chief Jeff Holley’s expertise, positions the No. 57 team as a serious threat this Sunday.
“Rafa is the guy to get it done,” Holley said. “We’re building off the momentum from Mid-Ohio and aiming to repeat what we did at Laguna earlier this year. The last time we had back-to-back race weekends, we dominated and won—no reason we can’t do that again.”
Meanwhile, Matos’ Silver Hare Racing teammate Noah Harmon continues to make impressive strides in his rookie season. Driving the No. 7 Streetside Classics/CUBE 3 Architecture Chevrolet, Harmon showed top-five pace at Mid-Ohio before being taken out in a late-race incident from Corey Day. Despite the setback, the 19-year-old remains focused and ready for redemption at Road America.
“Mid-Ohio on Sunday was tough, but I learned a ton,” said Harmon. “We’ve spent a lot of time as a team during these back-to-back weekends, and I’ve tried to soak in everything I can from Jeff Cessna, Gil Martin, and everyone around me. I’m excited to head to Road America—it’s fast, technical, and the fans are always awesome. We had a great car last Sunday and I know we’ll be in the fight for a podium again.”
Harmon’s growth has been a source of pride for Silver Hare Racing and his crew chief Jeff Cessna, who has helped lead the rookie through the learning curve of TA2 racing.
“Watching Noah from the first session through race day at Mid-Ohio was really something,” said Cessna. “His development has been incredible. Road America is one of my personal favorite tracks, and I know he’s ready to show what he’s got this weekend.”
Round 7 of the 2025 Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli takes place Sunday, June 29, at Road America and will be broadcast live on SpeedSport 1.
