Elkhart Lake, WI (June 30, 2025) – Silver Hare Racing brought strong pace and determination to Road America for Round 7 of the 2025 Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series, but a series of incidents ultimately prevented the team from capitalizing on their weekend speed.
Both Rafa Matos and rookie Noah Harmon looked fast in early practice sessions being second and sixth respectively, setting the stage for a strong showing. Qualifying threw the first challenge at the team when Matos completed his flying lap and the team discovered a tire going down on the No. 57 Concord American Flagpole/Silver Hare Racing Chevrolet resulting in a 11th place effort. Harmon would line up 13th in the No. 7 Streetside Classics/CUBE 3 Architecture Chevrolet.
Once the green flag waved, both Matos and Harmon quickly worked their way into the top 10, each battling near the top five in the early stages. After Thomas Merrill got into Matos and other competitors, Matos lost valuable track position. While he was able to continue, the incident slowed his charge through the field.
Harmon continued forward and worked his way into seventh, but unfortunate contact from behind sent the No. 7 Chevrolet into the gravel. Although Harmon was able to rejoin the race, the extended recovery left him one lap down. He would finish 17th—a tough break for the 19-year-old after being hit from behind for the second consecutive week.
Matos’ day came to an end several laps later when he unintentionally spun into traffic entering Turn 3, collecting Tyler Kicera and Sam Corry in the process. The incident forced Matos to retire, and he was credited with a 21st-place result.
“Obviously not the result we wanted today, but want to thank the support of our sponsors in Streetside Classics, CUBE 3 Architecture, Team Chevy, Concord American Flagpole Company and to the new friends to the Silver Hare Racing family we had the pleasure to meet and entertain,” said team owner Laura Hull. “I also want to thank our entire crew for all their hard work this weekend and everything during this quick turnaround of back-to-back weekends in Ohio and Wisconsin.”
Round 8 of the 2025 Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series will be in two weeks at Watkins Glen International.
