Connor Zilisch, Driver No. 57 Silver Hare Racing/KHI Management Chevrolet Camaro
“We had the fastest car, which is what I’m happiest about leaving Charlotte (with the Omologato Fastest Lap of the Race Award). I know Road Atlanta will be good next week. I’ve been there a lot and I’m just looking forward to it. We couldn’t really do anything about the result today. Once we got five laps down, it was just impossible to make it up. Just super proud of the Silver Hare team and how fast we’ve been. We proved we were the fastest car the last three sessions of the weekend – last practice, qualifying, and we were the fastest in the race. If we can avoid the bad luck, I know we’ll be able to run up front and win some races. Moving forward, we’ll get the car sorted out and go out there and win.”
Maurice Hull, Driver/Owner, Silver Hare Racing
“We had the highs and lows of the weekend. We had the fastest car every time we went on track. We have a very controlled driver who is wise beyond his years. He kept his nose clean in the middle of it all, but had some unfortunate, small problems that put us in the back after qualifying. And then we had a small wire problem in the race – and I mean a tiny little wire that rubbed and caused a short, and that brought us in and put us five laps behind. But we showed great speed, the car handled extremely well, we had great driving, and I’m proud of everybody’s effort. It was just one of those weekends. For sure we’ll be better. We will fix it, and that will put us on top.”
